Eisenhower Fellowships Leadership Award
In April 1996 former USA president George Bush awarded Angel Garcia de Vinuesa the Eisenhower Fellowship "Leadership Award" after completion of the EF MNP Multinational Program. This program is conducted through a research scholarship granted yearly by the Eisenhower Fellowship Organization, and is awarded to a reduced number of professionals who are chosen out of 100 competing countries.
The Eisenhower Fellowship Program consists of a personal invitation to the USA to establish inter-professional relationships with the most renowned american specialists in the fellow´s chosen research field. For Garcia de Vinuesa, the theme of the "Multi National Program" - MNP was based on the "Analysis of strategies for Public-Private Partnerships in large real estate projects," with special emphasis on Shopping Centers and Retail Parks, "Senior Citizens" living complexes and "Mixed-Use" Projects for Urban Revitalization. The program included the analysis of 18 large real estate projects (in cities such as Baltimore, Philadelphia, New York, Cleveland, Chicago, Phoenix, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and San Diego among others) and work meetings with chief executives responsible for the projects ´ development: politicians, main contractors, architects, urban planners and developers.
